As some of you may know (or will have gathered from my... ah... extensive fave gallery), I am rather obsessed with the Top Cow comic, Witchblade.
And (much to Lobo's disappointment I'm sure ) I refuse to give in to temptations of fanfiction... but fan art is a different matter entirely. So, armed with a stack of comics as reference material, off I went.
Much mechanical pencil troubles later, here it is.
Be warned, this desc contains witchblade spoilers
On the left there we have the original western-comics bearer of the blade, NYPD detective, Sara Pezzini.
In the middle we have a small and mostly inaccurate Danielle Baptiste - a young dancer searching for meaning in her life, who is given the Witchblade by Sara when Sara discovers she is pregnant.
Then we have the blade itself, and lastly, Takeru Ibaraki from the one-off manga. What's with the armoured bikini and the wacked out blade hair? I have no idea, but that's my version. Her sword is just there too.
Four eyes from left to right - Ian Nottingham, Dani, Sara, Takeru. Ian? Yep - towards the end of the Volume 1 compendium and the start of Volume 2, Mr Nottingham bears the male half of the witchblade, referred to as Excalibur, which is later absorbed into the main witchblade by Sara. I wanted to draw him but I ran out of room D:
Scattered about are a couple of little mini poses and some 'at rest' witchblades for the three girls.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
